A growing club with 'bigger & better' in its sights!

32 (?) years old and counting. [There is some disagreement in the club exactly how long we have been running with some members suggesting that the clubs actually 35 this year, if you know or can help please email]

Well if you have found this site thanks for hunting us out. The site has been up since late Jan 2007 and we are still finding our feet.

We hope that this site will benefit the club, promote archery, provide useful information for archers attending our competitions, local people looking for a new hobby and club members looking for a place to visit.

A.O.R itself is a friendly - rapidly expanding - small club that I personally have been part of for over 8 years. We relish hosting competitions at the great Manor school facility. There is nothing better than a long line of Archers 'loosing' at the same time. Please read the FAQ for more details.

Beginners courses are regularly run throughout the year. So contact us to sign up, the course enables you to join any GNAS club, but if your join AOR we will reduce your first years membership by the course fee.

We are now shooting outdoors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Beginners on Fridays/Saturdays depending weather if you would like to see us in action drop me an email and come down to the popular beginners course evenings, families welcome.

Don't forget all 'AOR Juniors' have their GNAS affiliation fee paid by the club!

If you are curious about Archery please check out our FAQ on the left to find the answers to some common questions.

Archery clubs are often small and like remote controls you often find them in the most unlikely of places. Archery shops are similar and this site should mention our local shop Targetcraft who have been kind enough to sponsor some of our competitions over the years. It is a small Aladdin’s cave of a shop ideal for your local archery purchases and equipment advice. The second hand section is also worth a look.

ArcheryPro is a new concept brought to you by people in the business and sport of Archery. Alan Wood, the Managing Director has been a member of the GB Paralympic squad for 4 years and has represented the country on numerous occasions. Alongside Alan this site is actively endorsed by Alan Wills, John Cavanagher and Mick Beard who all consider our approach to be a great leap forward.

They aim to combine:

  • the most professional advice, with
  • Internet pricing & price-matching with 5% discount for first time buyers and “affiliated" club members
  • Unique 5% club charitable donation scheme
  • The broadest product range (12,500 products with the highest level of stock in the UK),
  • Local After-Sales Support – the most important ingredient.

However as always you should not buy equipment before completing an archery beginners course and at AOR we have entry level equipment available for use.
